What We Do
Integer Technologies is an applied research and product development company founded by scientists and engineers with a passion for technology and national security. We perform R&D on next-generation systems and technologies for the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies. We are hardware and software developers with experience turning research into impactful products for military and commercial applications. Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing. We are a startup founded for the purpose of putting research into action. Our mission is to create a safer world by translating scientific discoveries into reliable products that address urgent national security needs… at the speed of relevance.
Our unmanned systems portfolio includes work on critical enabling technologies for more reliable, more intelligent, and longer-duration unmanned systems. We are actively developing a new perception system that automatically detects objects on and just below the surface of the water, day or night, and in most weather conditions, by fusing sensor data from multi-spectral cameras and radar using reliable and validated machine learning algorithms. This perception system will be a key enabler for autonomous ships to navigate safely without human intervention. Our power & energy systems portfolio includes work supporting the DoD’s the electrification of platforms beginning with Navy ships. Applications include hybrid and electric propulsion systems, autonomous controls, and integration with mission systems to achieve ultra-fast power system response. Our advanced manufacturing portfolio includes works to improve the throughput and quality of high-temperature composite parts used in advanced military aerospace systems.
About the Role
The Corporate Controller will support the financial functions of the Company under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all the accounting operations, internal controls and policies, as well as pricing and financial planning for all active request for proposal bids. This role will also serve as the backup for the Chief Executive Officer in the officer’s absence.
Duties

Oversee all accounting operations under the direction of the CEO including, but not limited to, financial reporting, internal controls, policy & procedure development and occasionally, payroll functions

Lead the financial reporting, bidding, and proposals for new business

Effectively manage all accounting and financial operations and supervise a growing accounting team and subcontractors and external consultants, including: an outsourced payroll / PEO Service firm, supporting bookkeeper, CPA specializing in government contract accounting, a corporate tax CPA, and other specialists as needed

Responsible for all accounting and administrative duties to ensure timely and complete financial and audited statements

Make financial recommendations based on analysis of financial reserves, assets, and expenditures.

Manage Labor Distribution process insuring accurate job and task level labor cost, benefits labor, overhead labor, G&A Labor, and B&P Labor

Utilize hands-on accounting experience and understanding of accounting principles in Company practices, including the proper segregation of costs into direct, indirect, and unallowable costs, per Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) guidelines

Lead financial and tax audits, as well as discrepancy resolution, including leading the company through an audit with the DCAA, with the help of government contract accounting specialists

Perform complex accounting activities including synthesizing data from timesheets, monthly expense reports, AP (using Bill.com), AR, GL to financial reports and make recommendations based on data and forecasts

Monitoring, tracking, and analysis of financials, as well as a detailed budget forecast to support hiring and investment decisions

Prepare financial statements, budgets, program expense actual and forecasted data for program managers

Support tax return preparation

Support and consult on company’s personnel on accounting and finance procedures and policies

Work together with the CEO, COO, Operations Manager, as well as other members of management to ensure accounting and financial procedures are followed and updated in a timely manner

Serve as the backup to the CEO for all accounting processes should the CEO be unavailable

Perform some administrative tasks such as data gathering, etc.

Other duties as related to the business functions of the company, as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
-
Five to ten plus (5-10+) years of experience with increasingly responsible management experience in a privately held company
-
Five plus (5+) years of experience managing people and processes
-
Three to five plus (3-5+) years of experience in pricing and/or financial analysis
-
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, financial statements, and business trends
Skills & Abilities:
-
Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software required
-
Willingness to learn QuickBooks Time (formerly T-Sheets) timekeeping software required

Strong skills with M.S. Office products, especially Excel required

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Superior attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a constant stream of deadlines

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Positive, solution-oriented personality who has a “service mindset” in helping program managers and engineers accomplish their goals, understand and follow policies, and stay in compliance

High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
Other Requirements:

US Citizenship is required to gain U.S. security clearance at a later date

Must be willing to work both remotely and in office, as required
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in accounting for a government contractor, especially a defense contractor, is highly preferred

Compensation
and Benefits

$90,000 - $120,000 a year

Starting salary depends on experience.
