Integer Technologies is an applied research and product development company founded by scientists and engineers with a passion for technology and national security. We perform R&D on next-generation systems and technologies for the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies. We are hardware and software developers with experience turning research into impactful products for military and commercial applications. Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing. We are a startup founded for the purpose of putting research into action. Our unmanned systems portfolio includes work on critical enabling technologies for more reliable, more intelligent, and longer-duration unmanned systems. We are actively developing a new perception system that automatically detects objects on and just below the surface of the water, day or night, and in most weather conditions, by fusing sensor data from multi-spectral cameras and radar using reliable and validated machine learning algorithms. This perception system will be a key enabler for autonomous ships to navigate safely without human intervention. Our power & energy systems portfolio includes work supporting the DoD’s the electrification of platforms beginning with Navy ships. Applications include hybrid and electric propulsion systems, autonomous controls, and integration with mission systems to achieve ultra-fast power system response. Our advanced manufacturing portfolio includes works to improve the throughput and quality of high-temperature composite parts used in advanced military aerospace systems.

This is a leadership role within Integer Technologies; a rapidly growing, tech-savvy defense research, engineering, and technology company operating at the intersection of government, academia, and the science and technology industry.

Our audiences include:

1. National security customers:

   1. Research and development sponsors, most of whom are scientists and engineers who possess graduate degrees in the STEM field,

   2. Acquisition customers who are concerned with fielding reliable systems to the warfighters,

   3. Large and small companies serving the National Security community,

   4. Warfighters themselves; the end-users of Integer’s products and services.

2. University partners: leaders, administrators, and researchers within those organizations, most of whom possess graduate STEM degrees.

3. U.S. congressional and executive branch stakeholders.

4. New recruits: scientists and engineers hungry to make a difference for national security.

What you’ll do:

• Craft the vision and strategy for Integer’s brand and bring it to life through strategic marketing and communications.

• Evolve Integer’s brand position, identity & voice and ensure brand consistency and cohesion across all aspects of the business.

• Oversee all comms, product marketing, digital media, & visual design at the company to drive and execute small to large scale campaigns.

• Partner with external consultants on visual design to develop strong, on-brand content for website, social channels, presentations, marketing collateral, etc.

• Research and develop high impact partnerships for Integer to amplify awareness of our value to our customers.

• Own Integer’s social strategy and execution — create a data-driven strategy to grow our national audience and strengthen audience engagement.

• Create a framework to measure ROI effectiveness for brand initiatives, track results and continually optimize.

• Lead the development of external and internal communications, help to shape the Integer Technologies story and deliver it to the right audiences, in the right way, at the right time to support key business objectives for the Integer brand.

• Work closely with the leadership team to contribute to (or devise) and manage the implementation of key communication strategies and tactics.

• Work closely with the leadership team to develop, refine, and deliver content, messaging, and visual presentations to high-value customers and partners.

• Collaborate with the leadership team, customer stakeholders and technical leaders to ensure strategic alignment of creative content and messaging.

• Assess and improve internal and external digital communication practices, channels and vehicles.

• Independently and in collaboration with technical staff, write daily blogs, Tweets, Facebook posts, LinkedIn posts, internal and external feeds and posts.

• Perform video production and editing, blog, social media posting, expand virtual external presence, and develop podcasts.

• Convert traditional media products into new and social media outcomes while maintaining compliance with Rules, Regulations, Guidelines from our government customers’ Public Affairs Offices.

• Leverage existing and cultivate new effective, professional working relationships to advance internal and external stakeholder engagement.

• Develop social media and traditional communication deliverables accurately reflective of the Company’s mission, vision and priorities.

• Implement new media quality control processes including training on tools, techniques, best practices, etc.

• Lead Integer’s participation in industry days, trade shows, and other events including planning, logistics, and communications as needed.

• Create a framework to measure ROI effectiveness for brand initiatives, track results and continually optimize.

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, and/or marketing.

• Experience leading a team of marketing or communications professionals.

• Ability to effectively and diplomatically drive change.

• Strategic thinking, planning and decision-making.

• Excellent writing, editing and project management skills.

• Experience protecting proprietary/sensitive information, following public release guidelines, and crafting 'sanitized' marketing material for release to the public; experience working in the defense industry is a plus.

• Strong presentation skills and comfort with presenting to audiences at all levels, including senior leadership.

• Proven track record of success in increasing awareness in high value audiences. Metrics to back up claims are ideal.

• Ability to understand and articulate differentiation: We are looking for a leader who can see the vision of what Integer will become over the next 3-5 years and bring the unique vision and brand to life through their work, one impression at a time.

• Ability to think and operate at the strategic and tactical levels, the creative and analytical. We need someone with vision who can also execute on the details that make it come to life.
