Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer
What We Do
Integer Technologies is an applied research and product development company founded by scientists and engineers with a passion for technology and national security. We perform R&D on next-generation systems and technologies for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other U.S. Government agencies, turning research into impactful products with military and commercial applications. Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
Our power & energy systems portfolio supports the DoD’s electrification of platforms, such as Navy ships. Our research involves hybrid and electric propulsion systems, large energy storage devices, autonomy, digital twins, and integration with mission systems to achieve fast and reliable power system response.
About the Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be the lead technical authority for multiple R&D projects related to power & energy systems. The Sr. Electrical Engineer works both individually and in concert with other engineers and software developers to architect cutting-edge solutions to our customers’ problems. This role is expected to balance creativity with engineering pragmatism to rapidly propose and demonstrate solutions to R&D challenges. The Sr. Electrical Engineer must be self-motivated to understand a customer’s needs, understand the gaps in current solutions, translate those needs and gaps into technical requirements, and propose and clearly communicate new technical approaches based on those technical requirements. The candidate must demonstrate an attitude for growth, continuously expanding their knowledge and skill to remain on the cutting-edge. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and experience as the engineering lead for projects involving control systems for Navy shipboard electrical power, industrial power systems, energy storage devices, electric/hybrid propulsion systems, directed energy weapons, or similar effort with an emphasis on advanced electrical systems and controls.
The Sr. Electrical Engineer has an integral role in the company’s growth by seeking out and supporting proposal efforts, hiring and training members of the engineering team, attending industry days and tradeshows, and interfacing with customers. Finally, the Sr. Electrical Engineer is a critical mentor and reliable source of technical direction for all other engineers in the company. This role works closely with Integer’s executive leadership team to ensure successful execution of Integer’s R&D efforts, as well as the transition of Integer’s R&D into functional prototypes and fielded products.
